AI Tools Overview
Why This Matters
Your CRM includes a set of AI tools that write your emails, build your templates, design your landing pages, and lay out your automation workflows. Instead of starting from a blank screen, you describe what you want and the AI produces something you can work with in seconds.
Everything lives under the AI menu in the main navigation bar. This article explains what each tool does and, just as importantly, how to pick the right one.
The Two Kinds of AI Tools
Almost every question about which tool to use comes down to one distinction.
The Builders make things that have a design. You chat with them, a live preview builds in front of you, and when it looks right you save it into the regular editor to finish. Use a Builder when you want something that looks like something: a designed email template, a landing page, a multi step workflow.
The AI Writer makes words. You choose a purpose and a tone, describe what you want to say, and it produces a draft you can refine, then send or save. Use the AI Writer when you want something that says something, and the design is either already handled or beside the point.
💡 If you find yourself in a Builder just to get some text written, you are in the wrong tool. The AI Writer is faster and costs fewer credits.
What's in the AI Menu
AI Dashboard is your home base. It shows your credit balance, a breakdown of your account status, quick links to every AI tool, and a log of recent AI activity.
AI Builders groups the three tools that build things for you:
- AI Email Template Builder, which builds a designed email template
- AI Landing Page Builder, which builds a landing page
- AI Workflow Builder, which builds an automation workflow
AI Writer writes and refines email and letter drafts. You pick a purpose and tone, describe your key points, and refine the result with a full set of editing tools.
AI Newsletter generates newsletter articles and images tailored to your audience.
Writing Voice Settings teaches the AI to write the way you write, using samples of your own writing. Once set up, you can apply your voice to any AI Writer draft.
AI Usage Report shows every AI action taken on the account, who took it, and what it cost.
Buy AI Credits is where the account owner purchases additional credits.
Other Ways In
The AI menu is not the only door. The tools also appear where you would naturally go looking for them.
On the Email Templates, Landing Pages, and Workflows list pages, a Build with AI button opens the matching Builder directly.
On the New Email Template screen, alongside the sample templates and the blank editors, Write Email with AI opens the AI Writer instead. This is the one place the two tools sit close enough together to confuse. Build with AI on the list page gives you a designed template. Write Email with AI inside Add Email Template gives you a written draft.
From a contact record, the Actions menu includes Write Email with AI under AI Tools. Your finished draft flows straight into the Send Email screen for that contact.
If you have connected Gmail or Outlook, the contact's Connected Inbox tab includes a Compose with AI Writer button.
How Credits Work
Every AI action uses credits. Your billing plan includes a set number each month, and they reset on the 1st. If you need more, the account owner can purchase credit packs at any time, and purchased credits never expire.
Your balance is always visible in the top right corner of every AI page. For the full explanation, see About: AI Credits.
Who Can Use the AI Tools
If you are the only person on your account, everything described here is available to you.
On a team, each member has an AI Features permission in their account settings that the owner or an administrator can grant or deny. It is a single switch covering all the AI tools, so a team member either has the whole AI menu or does not see it at all.
Buying credits is the exception. Only the account owner can purchase credit packs, regardless of anyone's AI Features permission.
Questions and Answers
Q: Do I have to use all the AI tools?
A: No. Each one works independently. Plenty of people use only the AI Writer for everyday emails and never touch the Builders, and that is a perfectly good way to work.
Q: What's the difference between the AI Email Template Builder and the AI Writer?
A: The Builder produces a designed template with layout, colors, images, and structure. The AI Writer produces text. If you want an email that looks designed, use the Builder. If you want an email that says the right thing, use the Writer.
Q: Can my team members use the AI tools?
A: Yes, if they have been granted the AI Features permission in their account settings. All team members with access share the same credit pool.
Q: Where do I go if I run out of credits?
A: The account owner can purchase a credit pack from AI, then Buy AI Credits, or from the Buy More Credits button on the AI Dashboard. If you are a team member, ask your account owner.
