Why This Matters
Every action you take with an AI tool uses credits. Understanding how credits work — where they come from, how they're counted, and what happens when they run out — helps you get the most out of your AI tools every month without unexpected interruptions.
How Credits Work
Your billing plan includes a set number of free credits every month. These reset on the 1st of each calendar month. Unused monthly credits do not carry over — they reset to your full plan allotment whether you used them or not.
If you need more credits than your monthly allotment provides, you can purchase credit packs at any time. Purchased credits never expire and are only used after your monthly credits run out.

What Things Cost
Different actions use different amounts of credits depending on complexity. These are estimates — actual cost varies slightly based on the length and complexity of each request.

Where to See Your Balance
Your credit balance is visible in four places:
- The AI Credits status bar in the top-right corner of every AI page
- The AI Dashboard credits panel
- The AI Dashboard account status panel
- The AI Credits widget on your home page dashboard (if added)
What Happens When You Run Out
When your credits reach zero, all AI generation and refinement buttons are disabled. A warning banner appears on AI pages with a link to purchase more credits. Any content you've already generated is not lost — you can still copy it or save it to a template.
Credits remain at zero until you either purchase a credit pack or your monthly credits reset on the 1st.
Questions and Answers
Q: Do my monthly credits roll over if I don't use them all?
A: No. Monthly credits reset on the 1st of every calendar month regardless of how many you used. Only purchased credits carry over indefinitely.
Q: Which credits get used first?
A: Monthly credits are always used first. Purchased credits only kick in after your monthly allotment is fully used up.
Q: Can I see exactly how many credits each action used?
A: Yes. The AI Usage Report shows the exact credit cost for every individual action taken on your account.
Q: Do team members each get their own credits?
A: No. All team members on an account share the same credit pool. There is no per-member allocation.
Q: What if I run out of credits in the middle of working on a draft?
A: Your existing draft content is not lost. You can still copy it to your clipboard or save it to a template — you just won't be able to run any additional AI refinements until you purchase more credits or your monthly allotment resets.
Q: Do purchased credits expire?
A: No. Purchased credits never expire and remain on your account until used.
